Correct Charging Method for Zinc Nickel Battery

As a new type of rechargeable battery, zinc nickel batteries have significant differences from nickel metal hydrogen batteries. When charging, a NiMH charger cannot be used, but a zinc nickel battery specific charger or a universal charger is required. The following points will briefly introduce the correct charging method for zinc nickel batteries.

Use a dedicated charger

Be sure to use a dedicated charger that matches the zinc nickel battery, and avoid using regular or fast charging chargers to avoid damaging the battery.

Pay attention to charging voltage and current

The charging voltage of zinc nickel battery is generally 1.88V, and the charging current is generally 100-250mA. If the charging voltage is too high or the charging current is too large, it will cause the battery to heat up and reduce its service life.

Control charging time

Generally, chargers come with a charging status indicator light, which can be unplugged in a timely manner after the light changes when fully charged. Zinc nickel battery specific chargers have a long-term power-off function, which can effectively avoid overcharging.

Avoid high temperature environments

When charging, the battery should be placed in a cool and ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperature environments. The optimal charging temperature is 0 ℃~40 ℃.

Stop charging in a timely manner

When the charger displays full charge or the battery heats up significantly, charging should be stopped in a timely manner.

Long term disuse

If the battery is not used for a long time, it should be charged every 4 months, 3 months, and 1 month when stored in environments not exceeding 30 ℃, 40 ℃, and 50 ℃, respectively.

Other precautions

Do not short-circuit the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
Do not disassemble, squeeze or burn the battery.
Do not put the battery into fire or water.
Please keep the battery out of reach of children.

Following the above methods can extend the service life of the zinc nickel battery and ensure safe use.
Please note that there may be differences between different brands and models of zinc nickel batteries. Please refer to the product manual for accuracy.
